Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm: a legendary comeback

Alfa Romeo has not been intimidated by the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show and has launched, via a video presentation on their official website, the two new variants of the Giulia: the GTA and the GTAm.

The company pays tribute to one of its most iconic models by applying to the Giulia Quadrifoglio the same concepts that were used to create the historic GTA (acronym for ‘Gran Turismo Alleggerita’) of 1965: the weight has been reduced by 100kg and the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine has been increased to 540hp. Thanks to the power-to-weight ratio and the Launch Control function, the car reaches 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds. A real bomb on four wheels!

The Giulia GTA does not go unnoticed and is easily recognisable, with four air intakes at the front, several parts of the car made of carbon fibre and a double central titanium exhaust, developed by the specialist Akrapovič, at the rear. The interior is a riot of Alcantara, used to cover the dashboard, door panels, empire, side pillars and seats.

The GTAm version is even more extreme. The cabin has two dry seats, with racing seats, 6-point harnesses, roll cages and even more extensive use of Alcantara, due to the replacement of the rear bench with a “tub” to house helmets and a fire extinguisher. The side and rear windows are made of Lexan, a special resin that comes from the world of motorsport and helps to further lighten the car. The aerodynamics are more refined and include a more pronounced front splitter and a large carbon rear wing.

A total of 500 strictly numbered Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm models will be produced. The sales process will be one-to-one and will be supervised by a specialist who will follow each customer from order to delivery. The car will be accompanied by an experience package including helmet, complete racing clothing, car cover and a driving course organised by the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy.
