Aurora writes its future with Mediability

8 October 2019

Aurora, a leading company in the production of writing instruments, is the historic brand from Turin that has written Italian history. In fact, Aurora pens, in their peculiarity and in their multitude of models, have marked the 20th century and the early 2000s, accompanying Italians at various historical moments.

A few months after the end of the First World War, the Jewish industrialist Isaia Levi founded the Aurora Italian reservoir pen factory in Turin, now commonly referred to as fountain pens, to symbolise the beginning of a new era. Since then, the company has been rewarded by the market for its excellent craftsmanship and the quality of the pens it produces.

What has characterised the Aurora company since its early years is its strong commitment to high technology to create objects with unique characteristics. It takes up to two hundred operations to create such unique pieces, in gold or mother-of-pearl, with rubies and diamonds; and from the idea to the production of a new product it can take from 18 to 24 months. All this is made possible by the skills of the goldsmith and the use of sophisticated technology. This is exemplified by one of the pens that will make the Turin-based brand famous throughout the world: the very elegant Aurora 88, created by the famous Italian designer Marcello Nizzoli and featuring the renowned gold-laminated cap. Other noteworthy models are the Aurora Alpha, Aurora Ipsilon and Aurora Optima.

This year Aurora pens celebrate 100 years of pure excellence in Turin. Since 1919 Aurora has been one of the most highly regarded producers of Made in Italy pens, which over the years have become a guarantee of efficiency and style. Aurora produces fountain pens, but not only, offering a wide variety of models to meet any requirement. Whether fountain pens or ballpoint pens, Aurora pens always ensure refined finishes, durability, smoothness and design.

The company, led by managing director Cesare Verona, has increased its export share over the last fifteen years, making the Aurora pen “at home” in at least fifty countries around the world. Aurora continues to make its mark, albeit with an eye to the future, staying technologically in step with the times, without forgetting its glorious past.
