Created by Polish software house CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077 is certainly among the most anticipated games of 2020 and is scheduled for release in September this year.
Set in Night City, a megacity obsessed with power, appearance and body modification, Cyberpunk 2077 is a dynamic open-world adventure in which the player takes on the role of V, an outlaw mercenary in search of a unique implant that is the key to immortality.
The expectation for this new adventure is now sky high and Xbox wanted to offer its most loyal gamers a limited edition Xbox One X console themed to the futuristic setting of the game: in a limited 1TB version, it embodies the urban decadence and vibrant technology of Night City. Its design includes elements that glow in the dark, custom decorative panels, LEDs, colour-changing effects and textures. The console contains a wireless Xbox controller inspired by the Johnny Silverhand character, displaying a half-natural, half-cybernetic design.
But the surprises aren’t over yet! One of the first lucky owners of this magnificent console showed on social media one of the many “easter eggs” that Xbox wanted to hide in order to surprise gamers even more. On a corner of the console they found the mysterious writing “Uniform Viktor Mike Echo”, which, read according to the rules of the NATO phonetic alphabet, reveals the code UV ME. The encrypted message becomes “UVME” or better, “UV ME”, i.e. “Pass me the ultraviolet rays”. Following the hint, a series of inscriptions slowly appear: the first one translates as “Many languages, one message” and next to it, a message of thanks, written in 15 languages including English, French, Italian, Chinese, Russian and Arabic. Finally, there is an inscription that simply reads ‘CD Projekt Red – Xbox’.
A move that is definitely pleasing Cyberpunk 2077 lovers, surprised by this secret message hidden on the consoles. A small “easter egg” that shows the care that CD Projekt Red and Microsoft have put into the realization of this product, the same care that Mediability has put in the communication of this special release: banners for the web, posters in shops, social graphics … all the graphic materials were created according to the guidelines of the parent company and brought to the Italian and Greek market for a special release, which led to the “sold out” in online stores in a few hours! Mediability is proud to accompany Microsoft on this journey, even in the world of gaming!
