19 October 2020

They had been announced some time ago and have finally made their way onto the international market: the latest two creations from Microsoft are ready to surprise and take their deserved stage in the coming months. Two products that combine the tradition of the Redmond brand with the latest technologies available in the PC sector.

What is it all about? On the one hand we have the long-awaited Surface Laptop Go, with its new features and a breath of fresh air on every possible level, while on the other we have a new configuration of the Surface Pro X, which has been the focus of interest for many enthusiasts in recent weeks. Again, there are many innovations.

Surface Laptop Go: all the news and features

Released last Tuesday, 13 October 2020, the two devices are all to be studied, and very carefully. Let’s see what the highlights are, starting with the newest addition to the line-up: the Surface Laptop Go. The latest notebook from Microsoft features a 12.4-inch display in a 3:2 aspect ratio and boasts a resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixels.

Surface Pro X: what is going to change

The Surface Pro X is a different matter, as it is a kind of ‘reissue’ of the existing model. What are the most significant changes here? This is a 2-in-1 that will basically use the Microsoft SQ2 SoC in high-end configurations.

The technology, based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G, will only offer LTE connectivity. Furthermore, the biggest and most consistent improvement seems to be finally being able to support and run a whole range of applications on Windows 10.

As far as prices are concerned, the reference range between the two products changes substantially: if the list price of the Laptop Go will start from a base of € 649, the new configurations of the Surface Pro X equipped with SQ2 will instead start from € 1749. Two different solutions, depending on everyone’s possibilities and needs.
