Mediability reports on the latest big news from Microsoft
At a special event held on 2 October in New York, the American giant Microsoft, a company with long experience in the field of innovative technologies, unveiled all the new features of its entire range of Surface products, which are characterised by their small size and ultra-thin profiles.
We then get to know the Surface Neo (big brother of the Surface Duo), the Surface Laptop 3, now available in 13.5″ and 15″ diagonals, and the new Surface Pro 7 with USB Type-C.
Among all the new products, the Surface Pro X stands out. With its 762 grams and a profile of just 5.3 millimetres, it enchanted all those present and was a candidate for the title of best portable device for productivity on the move. The Surface Pro X is the premium version of Microsoft’s 2-in-1. It features a 13-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with minimal bezels (-33%), a 5 MP front camera capable of 1080p (FHD) video recording and support for the Windows Hello facial recognition system. On the anodised aluminium back, there is a 10MP camera with autofocus and 4K video recording.
However, the real star of the event was undoubtedly the Surface Duo, with which Microsoft is making a comeback in the world of smartphones, ready to reach the top of the market. However, it would be an understatement to compare this innovative little gem to a classic smartphone. It is in fact a foldable device based on the Android operating system consisting of two 5.6-inch screens, each with an independent phone function, which can be opened to form a single 8.3-inch panel separated by a hinge. In addition to this innovative book-like opening, the Surface Duo can also fold into itself if necessary to reduce its size and use a single screen. Thanks to the sensors placed both horizontally (with the two screens vertical) and vertically (with the two screens horizontal), it can be used as a smartphone, a tablet or a small PC, and thanks to the collaboration with Google, you can access the Google Play Store to use all the applications that we are most fond of.
Audio and wearables also featured at the event, in particular Surface Earbuds that offer a touch surface and are integrated with Office 365.
In the next few days Mediability, as creative agency of Microsoft, will develop all the communication related to these great news for the Italian and Greek market, through the creation of banners, videos, newsletters, creativity on printed paper and much more. We are very proud to be able to convey the values of this great company and its products, which have always entered our homes with their classic Microsoft-style innovative touch.
