Next@Acer Global Press Conference: 2020 is full of news too

26 October 2020

It was a week full of important news, twists and surprises unveiled for the entire loyal Acer community: last Wednesday, 21 October 2020, a new Global Press Conference took place. Specifically, we’re talking about the Next@Acer Global Press Conference.

This event was eagerly awaited, but above all with great curiosity, given the fact that the Taipei brand had not leaked any information about the products that would be presented here. And, it really must be said, the wait has been rewarded with a wide and very interesting range. Let’s find out all the devices that from now on will be present in the Acer catalogue.

Next@Acer Global Press Conference: the new products

There are two new products in the world of laptops, primarily intended for content creators: the ConceptD 7 and ConceptD 7 Pro, both powered by 10th generation Intel Core processors. The ConceptD300 desktop computer also features the same generation Intel Core i7 processor.

The new faces in the world of laptops don’t stop there, however: the new Aspire 5, the Spin 3 and Spin 5 with touchscreen and convertible mode, and the new Swift 3x model also arrive. The Chromebook Spin 513 and the Chromebook CXI4, both of which are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c platform, are the latest additions to the Chromebook line-up, while there are three new additions to the TravelMate line-up. These are the TravelMate P2, P4 and Spin P4.

As far as the launch of the various products on the Italian market is concerned, the dates are very variable: some devices have already been released and are available from the first week of this October, while the remaining devices are expected to arrive in stages, with the last ones expected to be available from February 2021. For more detailed information and for all prices, as always it’s a good idea to refer to Acer’s official website.

The principles behind the new Acer generation

This was, as can easily be guessed, an event that was extremely conditioned by the current global situation and which therefore had to change not only its nature but also the very principles underlying the creation of the products. While the physical presentation was replaced by an online event, which had been widely announced, the second theme is far more complex and challenging.

In fact, all the products listed have been built on a number of very specific foundations, which have taken their steps over the last few months so unexpected and far from the normality we knew. It is no coincidence that most of the new additions to the catalogue have been made in the name of portability, long battery life and, above all, very simple mobility.

Acer has in fact created these products with the global situation in mind and in particular smart working, which is destined to increase more and more everywhere: for this reason some parameters have been further improved, in the name of greater connectivity and freedom from physical environments, both for leisure and for work.
