Pagani Automobili participates for the first time in the Concorso di Eleganza Villa d'Este and wins the Design Award

Pagani Automobili participated for the first time in the Concorso di Eleganza di Villa d’Este, held May 19-21 in the beautiful setting of Lake Como, and won by bringing one of the five Huayra Codalunga built by the Grandi Complicazioni department to the exhibition. More specifically, the car received the Design Award in the “Concept Cars & Prototypes” category.

First held in 1929, the exclusive review of the most sophisticated and fascinating classic cars of all time has always been hosted in the gardens of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and Villa Erba in Cernobbio. Starting in 2022, an award given to the most fascinating prototypes was introduced to represent and reward the union of the rich past and the promising future of the automobile.

It was in this category that one of the five examples of the Huayra Codalunga, a tribute to 1960s racing cars and Italian coachbuilders, competed and won. A project born in 2018 with the idea of making a codalunga version of the Pagani Huayra Coupe, in whose development project the brand’s customers were personally involved.

Of the Huayra Codalunga, the bodywork is striking, with its iridescent Bronze Aymara color from opaque to exposed carbon, while heritage leather upholstery with a vintage effect made by Loro Piana enhances the interior. In addition to the fascinating styling of the car, what is striking is what is hidden inside the engine hood, which reveals a true mechanical marvel: the Pagani V12, which on this series is capable of developing 840 hp with 1,100 Nm of torque. The Codalunga’s exhaust system also stands out, made of titanium with a weight of only 4.4 kg, thanks to the absence of rear grilles.

However, the Huayra Codalunga was not the only Pagani car to be displayed these days on Lake Como: from May 20 to 21, the FuoriConcorso was held in conjunction with the Concorso di Eleganza di Villa d’Este inside the beautiful Villa Sucota, where Pagani displayed the One-Off Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta Revo. A model that is the result of the union of the Zonda HP Barchetta road car, with a rebellious and performing soul, and the Zonda Revolución, two of the brand’s most iconic cars.

Excellence, design elegance, aerodynamics, and attention to detail allow Pagani cars to stand out in the luxury and high performance car sector. And with this important recognition, the brand is preparing to celebrate its 25th anniversary in the city of Modena from June 16-18, 2023.
