Red Dot Awards 2021: Acer Aspire Vero receives award and mention for sustainability

The attention to ecological issues is, rightly, increasingly present in any field. In recent months Acer wanted to offer a concrete demonstration of how even technology, often imagined as polluting and in antithesis with the environment, can instead join this movement of respect for nature by offering practical solutions, aesthetically fantastic and low environmental impact.

And so, following this interweaving of guidelines, Acer Aspire Vero was born: what the company itself has defined as the symbol of its commitment to a sustainable future for all. A PC with green colors, which is made through the use of recycled plastics and in particular of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled): 30% in the materials of the body, even 50% in the keys.

A Notebook that also presents the EPEAT®️ Silver registration, whose main feature is perhaps that it can be repaired directly by the user to impact even less on the planet: the parts of the device are in fact designed to be replaced by the user, in a simple and direct way. A solution that allows this PC to adapt totally to the needs of the planet.

And it’s no coincidence that the Acer Aspire Vero was recently awarded at the Red Dot Awards 2021, specifically for its packaging design (complete with 100% recyclable packaging). But that’s not all: the device, as mentioned extremely appreciated for its design, has also received a special mention for sustainability.

A strong underlying message, which Acer wanted to emphasize even at a visual level: not only through the neutral yellow and gray pigments of the PCR, which produce a non-glossy surface, but also by inserting the ‘R’ and ‘E’ keys deliberately mirrored. A novelty that cannot fail to attract attention and that involves two letters that are no coincidence: in fact, they refer to the fundamental message of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” at the basis of the eco-smart technology of this device.
