Spotify & Netflix: run away too from Vecna

Netflix and Spotify open the door to a new way of interacting with users’ favorite TV series.

Once again, Netflix and Spotify never cease to amaze their users. Both leaders in the media industry, the two companies have kicked off a partnership that has literally blown their subscribers away and won thousands of new users.

If you were previously unfamiliar with the American TV series Stranger Things, which first aired on Netflix in 2016, a full seven years later Spotify is ready to bring you into the “Hawkins” multiverse. If you have no idea what we are talking about, here is some useful information:

Imagine living in a city that has an “upside down,” a world falling apart where no one would ever want to live except for a creature named Vecna, who is ready to kill anyone. You may be wondering what this has to do with Spotify and Netflix, but we give you the answer.

The only way you can save yourself from Vecna’s clutches is just to listen to THE MUSIC! And not just any music, but your favorite song. That’s why Spotify has created a playlist called Upside Down, where you can find your favorite songs or the ones you listen to the most during the week, which in turn will save you from Hawkins’ monster.

Spotify’s goal, in addition to capturing as many users as possible, is to make people connect more with everyone around them. Spotify and its algorithms will analyze how many times you listen to your “life-saving” song, and you yourself may find that it is the same song you sing with a loved one.

In short, a real marketing and neuromarketing strategy! Not a bad idea that of Netflix, but we at Mediability are not to be outdone! In fact, the search for new communication and marketing-related technologies is a topic of extreme interest for Mediability, which has always moved 360 degrees in these areas. Contact us for more information about all our services.
