Microsoft is preparing for a new, huge revolution: this is the certainty after the event held in late June, in which the American giant has made the official announcement of a major update to its famous operating system. Windows 10 will soon become Windows 11. A transition that will take place from the end of 2022, the first rumors see it dated between the months of October and November.
“Windows 11 will be released by the end of 2021 and will be delivered over several months. The implementation of the update to Windows 10 devices already in use will begin in 2022, during the first half of the year.” this is the official announcement from the parent company, which shows that the project is already well advanced.
Not an imminent transformation, but still close enough to deserve a detailed focus on this choice and all the aspects involved. For one thing, Microsoft has announced that this will be a completely free update, obviously for all those who are already Windows users.
It is important to point out that Microsoft has set precise limits in this regard: the possibility of making the free upgrade to Windows 11 has been extended to Windows 8.1 and 7 users, however, you must be in possession of a device that guarantees a minimum level of power. Specifically, it will have to be supported by a processor from AMD Ryzen 3 3250C onwards or one from Intel from the eighth generation onwards; in any case, equipped with at least 4 GB of RAM memory, 64 GB of storage and TPM 2.0.
Let’s see what will be the main novelties brought by Windows 11: the main difference at the aesthetic level will be represented by the new translucent Start menu, which will be positioned centrally in the taskbar. Inside it, among other icons, there will also be a direct link to Microsoft Teams. It will also be easier to work on multiple windows at the same time, thanks to the possibility of creating separate desktops and docking apps next to each other.
Another epoch-making novelty is the one that will see Android apps land, for the first time in history, on the Microsoft Store: in fact, the Amazon Appstore archive will be exploited. And about Microsoft Store, even here is planning a change of look: modified interface, so as to be more pleasant and usable. Finally, Windows 11 will inaugurate a new personalized feed, based on artificial intelligence and able to guarantee a simplified access to on and offline contents.
Also worth mentioning is the possibility that Microsoft has given to users particularly interested in all these novelties: that of testing Windows 11 before its release, being part of the Windows Insider program. However, the development of the operating system is still in progress and therefore not all features could be ready or perform as well as in the future.
Mediability is proud to remain alongside a giant like Microsoft, continuing to provide communication services: newsletters, banners, assets for social, landing pages and printed graphics for points of sale.
